'Ashokavanam' was Mani Rathnam's next but
unfortunately the title is already someone else's, so it is tentatively
titled as 'Production No 11'. The making of this movie has been started
at Athirapalli, Kerala. Being a trilingual film made in Tamil, Telugu
and Hindi, the flick features prominent stars of the respective
industries. While Abhishek Bachchan dons the lead role in the Hindi
version, Vikram does the lead in the Tamil and Telugu versions.
Aishwarya Rai is the heroine in all these three languages.
Said to be a trendy version of the epic Ramayana,
the Tamil and Telugu version will have Prithviraj and Priyamani
enacting the key roles. Prithviraj had lost a couple of kilos and
became lean as instructed by the master director. The movie will see
the comeback of veteran actor Karthick in a villainous demeanor.
Erstwhile, Mani Rathnam portrayed Karthik as a debonair young man, in
his 'Mouna Ragam' that was acclaimed widely.
The movie is to be made at a budget of 120 crores
which will be cinematographed by PC Sreeram. The crew has planned
around 45 days of shooting in Kerala. The canning will be continued at
Illikadu and Marayoor forests. Aishwarya and Abhishek are expected to
join the sets by the 10th of October.
